YOM
LE SILENCE DE L'EXODE
Release date : 2014
YOM : composition and clarinet
CLAUDE TCHAMITCHIAN: bass
FARID D: cello
BIJAN CHEMIRANI: percussion
This new work was commissioned by the Festival de l'Île-de-France as part of a theme on diaspora. The clarinettist turns his attention to the historic and seminal episode of the exodus of the Jewish people from Egypt, and delivers here his most introspective project.
Accompanied by the no less inspired Claude Tchamitchian, double bass player of Armenian origin, Farid D., an oriental cellist and Bijan Chémirani, Iranian percussionist, Yom delivers a hypnotic journey into a mystical elsewhere, at the crossroads of Jewish, Oriental and Middle Eastern music.
